crush or flush????

Are you the kind of person, who likes to make new friends. Are you on a look out for a better social networking site ??? Then i feel , i just have the solution for you .There are the traditional ways, such as match.com or american singles (if you can think of online dating as "traditional!") Then there is virtual dating, where you assume a character and meet people in an online chat room.

I wish this type of technology had been available when I was younger. It would be fun to describe yourself with funky, wild words, more outrageous the better to attact my soul mate. At my age, if I were to use funk language to describe myself, I think it would be a definite turn off. But it would still be fun to use this technology to meet people who are attractive to me.but it is never too late , atleast tha whati think!!!

Women, men, and teenagers who do not have loveones are waiting for such a service. How about those who does have lovers? Well take this as h=jus another opportunity tomeet new people.Well the what are you waiting for ... hurry make hay while the sun shines!!!! lol!!!

Haunted from the grave

An old man and woman were married for years even though they hated each other. When they had a confrontation, screams and yelling could be heard deep into the night. A constant statement was heard by the neighbors who feared the man the most.

"When I die I will dig my way up and out of the grave to come back and haunt you for the rest of your life!"

They believed he practiced black magic and was responsible for missing cats and dogs, and strange sounds at all hours. He was feared and enjoyed the respect it garnished.

He died abruptly under strange circumstances and the funeral had a closed casket. After the burial, the wife went straight to the local bar and began to party as if there was no tomorrow.

The gaiety of her actions were becoming extreme while her neighbors approached in a group to ask these questions: Are you not afraid? Concerned? Worried? That this man who practiced black magic and stated when he died he would dig his way up and out of the grave to come back and haunt you for the rest of your life?

The wife put down her drink and said, "Let the jerk dig. I had him buried upside down."

camel back dispaly

Each year, outdoor trade shows become more and more common. Why be cooped up in a crowded exhibit hall when you could be enjoying a warm, sunny day? Outdoor trade shows are usually set in beautiful locations with stable and predictable climates, which allows exhibitors to prepare for the weather in advance. More and more trade shows are moving outdoors, and these trade shows are statistically more profitable for exhibitors and attendees than indoor trade shows.

Exhibiting at outdoor trade shows can create interesting challenges. Wind, sunlight, rain, and even humidity can cause problems for traditional trade show displays, but the outdoor trade show displays we sell at MODdisplays are guaranteed to hold up in all types of inclement weather. Our outdoor banner stands are printed on durable fabric that will not fade in the harsh sunlight. Even in rainy, windy conditions, our outdoor banner stands will remain firmly planted in the ground if properly installed.

Most exhibitors at outdoor trade shows use trade show trade show displays. These tent displays allow you to clearly define your exhibiting space, and the fact that we offer truss allows you to further enhance your marketing campaign by highlighting your company brand. Walls can be added on the sides of the tent, which allows your exhibiting space to be as private or as public as you need it to be.

Across the board, one of the big trends in the trade show industry is banner stands. Understanding how these environments work can allow your company to use them to your advantage. Outdoor trade shows are catching on because they are simply more fun than indoor trade shows. Exhibitors feel more relaxed and comfortable, which helps to create a business-friendly environment. Aside from the travel expenses that you’re likely to incur moving your booth staffers and exhibit material to a sunny, warm location, there really is no downside to outdoor trade shows.

confession??? can't hear it..

At one local church, Joe was in charge of taking up the offerings. One Sunday after the services, the priest counted the cash and found it was smaller than anticipated. So he questioned Joe. He told him that it did not seem enough for the size of the congregation. Joe said that he did not take any of the offering. The priest again questioned him and again he said that he did not take any of the offering.
So the priest said "get in
the confessional" which Joe did.
Then the priest asked him did you take
any of the offering and this time
he said "I can't hear you".
Again the
priest asked "Joe did you take any of the offering?"
Again Joe answered "I can't hear you".
This time the priest yelled "JOE DID YOU TAKE ANY OF THE OFFERING"
Again Joe answered "I can't hear you".
By this time the priest was getting a little angry so he came out of the confessional and saId "Joe trade places with me and you can ask me a question."
So they traded places and Joe asked " I hear that you and my wife are having an affair, is that true??
To which the priest answered "By Golly you can't hear in here".

Vunies High Dies

The sister of late heavyweight champion Joe Louis died of exposure in the snow after wandering out of a retirement complex in a Detroit suburb.

Vunies High, 92, who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, was dressed only in pajamas when she was found dead Monday morning, The Detroit News reported Wednesday. Lt. Nick Loussia of the Southfield Police said that High was last seen at about 8 p.m. Sunday, 14 hours earlier, and that employees at The Heatherwood had been looking for her when they discovered she was not in her room.

An autopsy determined the cause of death to be hypothermia.

recognizeanyone.com

Exploring sites and blogs that i have not visited has always been a routine for me . I start by clicking one of my favorite blogs and click a random link to someone else’s site. Each week I am amazed at some of the sites I find.

This week, I visited Recognize Anyone. The site is a social experiment to see how small the world really is. I love it. The site simply shows a random photo from a random place on a random day.

I think it would be cool if they posted more photos from random people from random places around the world. Of course I don’t Recognize Anyone in that photo, but then again the odds that I would are very slim. The guy in the blue hat looks like a friend of mine from 20 years ago, but he has a lot more gray hair than that now. Ha!

Do spend some time and help this social networking website , grow more popular

SUPERSTAR - THE INSIDE STORY

NO.., before you even think that, i'll tell you its not true. the word "super" is not mutually exclusive to Rajnikanth films, and it did not originate from the many famous dialogues, one of which is quoted below.

rajnikanth-
( flooring the villian after a lightning, "feet without touching the ground" fight) owwiseet?
his long suffering sidekick- sooper(or souper)

why are actors and actresses called stars? maybe because, in the times when they used to wear striped bellbottoms, pointy collared silkshirts and puff sleeved blouses -all in shiny red, bright yellow and bubbly pink that literally blinded the awestruck fans, who were so impressed by the brilliace emanating from theirluminously clad idols, that they started calling them stars.

i think the word "super" has an unmistakebly indian quality anout it. we indians love to pepper our conversations with laudatory exaggerations, and super is the loudest of all laudatory exaggerations. it can be used as a noun, adverb, adjective, verb, anything. only in india can we see superfast express trains, supergood films, superosuper(its a tamil word), supersubburayan(a stunt man) and ofcourse, superstars.(if anyone brings up superman and superdog, i'll get superpissed).

but coming back to the title of the article, i dont know, really. but if anybodyelse knows the origin of the word superstar, please comment here.

split hair over this- what is the exact definition of stargazer?
if the sun is a star, is the sun tv a star tv?
is the shooting star a gunweilding filmstar?
is amitabh bacchan the northstar?
mgr was the peepal's star.
rajnikanth is thaleeva star.
outdated joke- the only star clinton never gazes at- kenneth starr.

Fruit of the Clouds

Andrea picked up this great one from the cellestial tea pack insert:
"Between true friends even water drunk together is sweet enough"
I like it...not just because it is a zimbabwean proverb, but also because it is aligned with one of my other little clinton-isms as my family called them 'fruit of the clouds' - that's my term for umoya, amanzi, panee, aqua, agua, eau, wasser, 水, H2O, water!

When in the company of spanish speakers (including filipino) I will often refer to it as agua pura, from the mexican potable water campaign in the mid 1970's

Where Is The Chinese Alphabet?

oes the Chinese language have an alphabet?

If so, where is it? Why don’t I see it?

Each month thousands of people search for the "Chinese alphabet" on the internet.

To answer the above questions, let’s look at how the Chinese writing system evolved…

Societies create their own symbols.

As societies change so do the meaning of their symbols.

In most societies, as a culture took shape and a written language of letters was developed, symbols – which were once the primary means of communication, were replaced by words or phrases.

The evolution of the Chinese language took a rather unique turn.

Instead of visual symbols being replaced by a written language of letters, the symbols themselves became the written language.

One of the reasons for this is that the Chinese language is tonal – the tone of voice used to speak a syllable alters its meaning.

In Mandarin for instance, there are four tones.

The same utterance in each tone gives four different meanings.

In addition, words in the same tones often have different meanings and their meanings can only be made clear by the context of the sentence.

This unique feature of the Chinese language gives rise to rebuses or “visual puns”.

The interplay of phonetics and puns often reveal the hidden meanings of Chinese symbols.

Phonetics and puns often give clues to the hidden meaning of images.

Hence a picture of a fish is an expression of abundance because the Chinese word for "fish" yu2 鱼 has the same sound as "abundance" yu2 余 .

This is a “visual pun” or what’s known as a rebus.

Now it’s easy to see why there is no such thing as a “full Chinese alphabet” or “Chinese alphabet letters”.

Or why the Chinese alphabet is “missing”.

An alphabet consists of a small number of letters (e.g. 26 in English) which make up all the words in the spoken language.

There aren't any letters in Chinese writing -- only thousands of individual symbols or ideographs each with their specific sound/s and meanings.

The Chinese language is an “ideographic writing system”.

Since there are no letters in Chinese it naturally follows there is no Chinese alphabet.

There, mystery solved!

P.S. look for more such interesti9ng stuff in this link .. i found it !!!! pretty kool

meet the robinsons- my movie review

I've mentioned this many times, but first it's important to remember that I'm biased. I don't think there's an animated Disney film that I've given less than a 10 out of 10. Heck, I give a large percentage of their live action fare a 10 out of 10, and almost never give any of their films lower than a 7 out of 10. I don't do this just because they're Disney and I'm issuing a vote to keep me in an extended, fantastical childhood (I need no assistance in maintaining an element of that, thank you); I do it because I really enjoy their work that much.

It's easy to see how many people might not care for Meet the Robinsons. It has far more in common stylistically with recent Disney films like Chicken Little (2005) and Lilo & Stitch (2002) than it does with the "classic" Disney films (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), Cinderella (1950), etc.), or even their "second golden age" (The Lion King (1994), Beauty and the Beast (1991), etc.)--although it's worthwhile to note that some characteristics are not that far removed from Alice in Wonderland (1951) or even Pinocchio (1940), and you'll find things reminiscent of many other films--from Toy Story (1995) to Robots (2005) to Looney Tunes cartoons. It has an unusual, surrealistic flow, and it often seems like there's nowhere the animators won't go for a bit of weirdness.

But especially this latter fact is part of the charm to me. Meet the Robinsons may be adapted from the gorgeously drawn children's book, William Joyce's A Day with Wilbur Robinson (1993), but it seems just as inspired by Edward Lear's "Nonsense" books, which were some of my first favorites as a kid.

Visually, Meet the Robinsons is just as beautiful as Joyce's work. And beneath all the wonderfully frantic surrealism, which is loaded with quick, funny pop culture references, there's a great message here about creativity, experimentation, mindful experience and the necessity and acceptance of failure and rejection.

have a look at my other reviews

GRADUATION

I believed I was full
For so many years.
This “fullness” was accompanied by others
Independence and self sufficiency
I survived all along – starving.
You poured and filled the rest
Into a space filled with vacuum
Which I never knew existed.
I looked back and noticed the drains
Which you carefully plugged.
As you never tagged any,
I contend shamefully
I never had a reason to say
I never noticed.
I take a long silent pride in admitting in whispers
Which I believe will reach only your ears
That I always subconsciously
Leaned on your strong shoulders.
Now sitting in a corner
Of this lonely strange planet
With a few inert objects as companions
I think aloud to myself
Because perfect communication
Is a visible obstacle here.
You graduate to become my best half.
I pray you hear this too
My dear.

Pirates Of Silicon Valley

A few days back,Dr.Eric Schmidt, Google's CEO was elected as a member of the Apple board of directors. The Apple board has some prominent figures like Al Gore and Google's board has members like Paul Ottelini - Intel's CEO. The nomination of Eric has sparked off a flurry of speculations amongst analysts. All the speculations are hinting at one baseline, 'redmond rivalry'. In essence a move to get a stronghold of the markets dominated by microsoft.
Take a look at how Apple is striking at the market, their new intel based macs have the capability of running windows with the bootcamp software. Bootcamp will become a standard in leopard, the next version of OS X slated for launch in spring 2007. When Apple says spring 2007, it will be spring 2007 and nothing else. By giving consumers the 'choice' between Windows and Mac on the same platform, Apple will entice the users to the benefits of Mac and thereby potentially sideline windows/vista as the defacto operating system. So the doors have opened for apple to gain a foothold of the lucrative pc Operating system segment.
Another potential speculation is an Apple-Sun merger. The apple-sun merger has been on the cards since decades and both companies have shared and traded a lot of talent. Both the companies have an almost common product line except the low end servers made by sun. While Sun has been picking up stake in the unix server segment, thanks to Andy's brainwork, Apple has been picking up stake in the PC/laptop segment. A merger could provide sun with one of the best marketing and design teams while it would give Apple access to the lucrative server market where it can push the X-serve line of products. With Eric on the board, there won't be much of a future CEO conflict between Jobs and Schwartz.
Analysts are also speculating googling apple or in other words, bring in google's ideologies into some of apple's software products - potentially in the music segment. With Universal launching a free music download service, iTunes will have to go the same route with the revenues served only by ads and what better company to provide the ad framework than google?. Universal has several potential pitfalls - the songs cannot be burnt on cds and they wont play on iPods ( which account for 80% of digital music player sales ). Apple has the potential to offer free music downloads with revenues from ads/google adsense and keeping everything else same.
All in all, its quite interesting to watch how the three dominant valley companies collaborate in bringing better services and products to people and directly or indirectly affecting the redmond behemoth.

hunt is on

I'd been sufficiently content up until december but i fear it is time to move on now, so put myself out there. the burn bean company called me and now i have to speak to them again.may be interesting.

why the hunt you ask? well when you have to deal with hyper critical micro managing megalomaniacs who think that everyone is driven by dollars and have no domestic life, it is time to move on. 8 leadership changes in 18 months is more than i can handle.

i sleep with my phone - how sad is that.

quote libet

One of the numerous sops to the media for Gowariker's forthcoming period opus Jodhaa Akbar (rejected tagline: when doves cried) casts a shadow of doubt on the nature of the intended audience of the film and the presence of brain cells in the marketing/PR department; it also offers quiet assurance that Bollywood has a long way to go before it acquires a new approach to movie marketing. I have shown my body in Jodhaa Akbar too screams the headline for a collection of responses from the film's star Hrithik Roshan in response to a bunch of questions that came from the WeThinkWeRCool department:

different frequencies

poor photograph of the cover of the January 2008 issue of Wired from ebay.com
A glances at the three issues of Wired on the desk as he carries on a discussion with B. B sees the interest in A's eyes and also the screaming words advertising the title story ("100 mpg! the race to build the ultimate fuel-efficient car") and starts talking about supergreen cars and A has to tell B that it wasn't the title story but the line above the title that caught his eye: "radiohead and the new world of music by david byrne." B doesn't register Radiohead, he only registers the word music. A enthusiastically tells B why he thinks the line is cool: David Byrne was the frontman of Talking Heads and Radiohead got its name from a track on the Talking Heads album True Stories. A feels the enthusiasm drain away as he registers B's reaction. They return to their discussion, wrap it up and A returns to his desk with the issue, hoping to read the article in a spare moment.

EXCERPT FROM NEPALESE INTERVIEW

"We are starting a party because the king has ordered us."TSHERING TOBGAY, a former civil servant in Bhutan.

Funny? No. I met a few people from Bhutan and to say the least they are happy. Not ecstatic. Just happy. They need less. They are happy with what they have. They are less ambitious. They trust their rulers. Happy.

People like me (and most of you), living in one of the fastest growing economies, where ambition and drive and initiative and having an unlimited set of desires coupled with the 'right attitude', will never want less and will never be satisfied with anything. We live by a baldies word who said, "Only paranoid survive".

So we love to live unfulfilled, just gives us another avenue to crib. Happy? Never.

May be we should have a sabbatical in Bhutan.

TRAFFIC

* utopian vision meghna actress: Gulzar, Kothari or Naidu? The first has no known desire to face the camera, the second has aces like Prem Aggan and Vadh in her kitty and the third bounced about the screen in lipidinous levity featuring in Classic Dance Of Love and promised to break new ground with sleaze master Karan Razdan's Shock (sadly not much has been heard of this film since). I fail to see the utopian angle.
* daya nayak licensed to kill telugu: Was his target the people or the film industry? Surely, he wouldn't want to deny us the blessings of Balaya?

When I was just fifteen years old I went to California with my brother, two cousins, and a family friend to visit my uncle. It was quite the experience for a young teenager. But now I want to go back. I am getting old and I would love to look into a mommy make over. Mine are rather small and a bit saggy from age and having children. Just imagine how much better I would feel about myself then! I could wear low cut tops again. From what I understand about it there isn’t too much pain afterwards. The recovery period is only a few days to a week. I could take a week’s vacation and no one would really know!

Or maybe I could get a southern california tummy tuck (known as abdominoplasty) that seems to be all the rage these days. I can’t decide between that or southern california liposuction. I think I’d rather have the tummy tuck. I’m not terribly overweight. The recovery time for this is ten to fourteen days. A bit longer than the breast augmentation.

Now, here is something great! They can combine the two for a Mommy Makeover! I would LOVE that. I would love to get my body close to looking like it did before I had children. It has been nearly thirteen years since I had my last child and I am not regaining anything at this point.

I remember visiting Beverly hill cosmetic surgeonwhile we were there. I saw so many beautiful people while we walked around. I used to think it was superficial, but now I understand it. Back then I was petite and in shape. Now, not so much. You don’t really do it for other people; you do it to make yourself feel better about you.

lipo, tt, breast aug

There were nearly 11.5 million surgical and nonsurgical procedures performed in the United States, as reported by the American Plastic Surgery Society. Surgical procedures accounted for nearly 19% of the total with nonsurgical procedures making up 81% of the total.

From 2004-2005, there was a decrease of 4 percent in the total number of cosmetic procedures. Surgical procedures showed an increase of 1% with nonsurgical procedures falling by 4 percent. This is bucking the previous trend of increasing nonsurgical treatments, as is seen in liposuction

Since 1997 there has been an increase of 444 percent in the total number of cosmetic procedures. Surgical procedures have increased by 119 percent, nonsurgical procedures by 726 percent.

The top five surgical procedures cosmetic procedures in 2007 were:

Liposuction with 455,489 procedures performed, down five percent from last year. Interestingly, 21% of these procedures were ultrasound-assisted Lipoplasty (UAL)

Breast Augmentation with 364,610 procedures up nine percent from 2004. For the first time, we categorized saline vs. silicone augmentation. 83.4 percent of respondents used the saline device, 16.6 percent the silicone implant. This might change for breast augmentation since the FDA has approved silicone implants.

Blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid surgery) came in third with 231,467 procedures down 20 percent from 2006

Rhinoplasty (nose reshaping) is the forth most common procedure with 200,924 procedures performed, an increase of 21 percent over 2006

Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) reported 169,314 procedures, up 12 percent from 2006.

crafting the perfect pitch

Braving the inclement weather in the morning (I do not do this even for the most important of my college lectures, preferring to amble into the lecture hall only after noon), I managed to reach Elphinstone College well on time. The trains were empty on account of the weekend, and minus the effort that one needs to exercise in the daunting crowds of Bombay locals, the faces of commuters looked sadly careworn and unoccupied.

Held in Elphinstone’s Seminar Hall 1, Kavitha Rao’s workshop was quite a success - in addition to the twenty people already registered for the event, there were others who dropped by and had to be accommodated. (It would have been better however if all of them had showed up on time and not trickled in one by one throughout the duration of the workshop.)

A quick note on Kavitha Rao: I came across her website while researching for an article on the internet. She has a most impressive profile as a freelance journalist, as is evident from her website. She has lived and worked in London, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Tokyo, and reported from Cairo, Be

GPS

GPS stands for Global Positioning System. It was originally intended for military applications, but in the 1980s, the US government made the system available for civilian use. GPS works in any weather conditions, anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day. There are no subscription fees or setup charges to use GPS. GPS is now put into various applications, not just for finding the way home when your are lost in the jungle anymore !

Vehicle tracking is a relatively new feature but that becomes absolutely necessary for many services like the people involved for delivery and police personnel. This feature is a state of the art technology and is being charged at monstrous rates which makes it unfeasible to implement and use.It will be of real help only if people if its affordable and exactly hat's what has happened now.

GPS Insight vehicle tracking system is a hardware and web software-based vehicle tracking product which is the technical leader in the GPS tracking field. The hardware is easy to install and is the only product which gets direct engine diagnostics (fault codes, speed, fuel consumption, odometer readings, idle time, etc.). The product also gives 2 minute updates with VERY high end map options and customizations.
further ,GPS Insight support wiki for customers is of a very good information.you can also blog about this issue taking valueable tips from Blog for GPS vehicle tracking

Wenger: I Tried To Sign Ronaldo Before United

Speaking to BBC Sport, the Gunners manager revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo might have been a Gunners player today, had things gone a little differently.

"He was here much earlier - he could tell you that if he wants," he began, referring to the young Portuguese star's move to United in 2003.

"Manchester United had a partnership with Sporting Lisbon when United assistant coach Carlos Queiroz moved and that made it very difficult."

However, Wenger would not give away any more about Ronaldo's time with Arsenal.

"I don't want to create any story that isn't needed," he huffed.

While Arsenal's youth system is renowed across the world, it appears that United's club links outdid it on this occasion.
